Power Plate Technology: How Does It Work?
Power Plate® machines work because the vibrating platform naturally activate reflexive muscle contractions, 25 to 50 times per second. The Power Plate oscillates in three directions, exactly how the body is designed to move.
Using the principles of Acceleration Training™, the Power Plate® machine can help people to improve sports performance, enhance fitness and wellness and even accelerate recovery from injury. Acceleration Training™ provides the following advantages:

A study by Power Plate International Research, Development, Education and Training have revealed that using the principles of Acceleration Training™, on the Power Plate® machine is a valuable training modality for pre ski season preparation.
Power Plate® training provides the following advantages to the skier:
- Enhancing the body's sensory awareness to adjust quickly to changing terrains and avoid obstacles
- Improved endurance to charge across the mountain all day
- Improved strength and reaction speed to attack the double black diamond runs with renewed vigour

Power Plate Technology: Ski Programmes
Ski specific training programmes have been created to accommodate all levels of fitness developed by our in house expert. Regardless of whether you are an experienced skier, you will need to start with the level one Power Plate Ski programme and progress through each programme before moving up. For maximum results it is advised to focus more on correct technique than progression.

Accelerate your Rehabilitation
If you have an injury either new or something you have been carrying for a long time I recommend that you see Power Plate's rehab expert and qualified Physiotherapist, Jaydn Nixon. Power Plate is a very effective and fast way to progress back to full fitness. People often think there is nothing they can do about old niggles and put up with the discomfort but you don't need to.

Personal Experience - Fiona Stevens
I have been using Power Plate regularly for 4 months and like many people I have tried other forms of vibration training. The Power Plate is completely different. Power Plate is like driving a Volkswagen Touareg as compared to a Tractor. The approach and the machines are nothing like what I had thought it would be.
It is such a positive form of fitness and training and the Power Plate approach of Acceleration Training has given me great results.
In a Nutshell
- It's quick to do
- It's incredibly effective
- It's low impact with fast results
- It's brilliant for stretching
- I have had no soreness at all
After several years on my knees (usually praying for snow at the same time) I am now able to do full press ups again.
And I have found it such a positive way to exercise as it energises you – so if you're feeling a bit slow or tired a few minutes on the Power Plate does wonders.
